Voice Memo Does Not Work

I and my friend had to record a podcast on voice memos and all of a sudden the audio recording stopped playing and just completely froze. When I go back to listen to the recording it does not let me press play therefore I can't actually listen to it. I am able to skip forward, skip backwards, and delete it but I can't seem to be able to play it or do anything else with it. Does anyone know why this is happening to how I can fix it?
