We have a very large optical media “armoire” that store all of our discs.
Our 55 inch flat screen TV sits atop of that.
Believe it, or not, like vinyl records, laserdisc is making a comeback.
Even 8-track audio tape and audio DAT tape are making comebacks.
Yamaha has introduced higher end consumer integrated component audio amplifiers with either 8-track tape capability where the analogue signal from the 8-track tape is pretty much instantly converted and outputted to a pure digital audio signal ( either set for 44 or 48,000 Khz ) OR the amplifier can come with an integrated Digital Audio Tape deck which instantly converts the digital audio and directly outputs the audio from the tape's digital code/signals.
All of this converted by an high grade internal DAC back to normal outputted audio signals.
I have been contemplating purchasing the DAT player version of this Yamaha component amplifier, as I did a lot of audio DAT player recording back in the late 1980's up to around 2004 to 2006.
Everything old becomes new again with the passage of time.
