hi, i cannot download anything from my icloud files because suddenly it says i must authenticate first, what do i do?

It sounds like you are getting authentication errors when using Files. We understand how important this is to you and we are here to help.
First, let's restart your device. Even though this seems like a simple step may help: Restart your iPhone
If the issue persists go to Settings > your Name > iCloud > iCloud Drive and disable this toggle, restart, and enable again.
If the same alert appears, can you provide a few more details? When did you first notice this? Also, does this issue happen over Wi-Fi as well as cellular data?
