Assuming that you have updated your iPad to iPadOS14.x, you can see the charge status of Apple Pencil in iPad Settings:
Settings > Apple Pencil
You can also monitor the Apple Pencil (and other batteries) from the iPad Home Screen today view - using the Batteries Widget.
