RAM Upgrade

To upgrade the RAM on a MacBook would I have to buy another one or can I keep the same one and still upgrade it?

Well, zaiden36, that depends on when it was made. If you have a fairly recent model of MacBook, then no, you cannot upgrade the ram after you bought it, as it’s soldered in place right to the logic board. You could have upgraded as you were buying it... but, after,no. You can find out roughly when your MacBook was made by looking on the outer casing for a model number( should start with the letter “A”) . Remember that or write it down. Go to everymac.com and in the “search” window, type in your model number, and it’ll tell you all kinds of things about your MacBook, including if your RAM is upgradeable or not.
