Restoring iCal from a Time Machine Backup

I synced my new MacBook (running Big Sur) to my iCloud account yesterday, which shares my iCal and Contacts data with my iMac (running High Sierra) and iPhone. When I noticed multiple entries of the same events on the MacBook, and multiple Calendars listed on the left margin, I deleted what I assumed were redundant calendars created somehow by syncing a new device, and managed to hose the entire calendar (all but US Holidays) and, of course, it synced my desktop and phone to the same broken calendar.

I've been searching the forums to see if I can restore a calendar from my Time Machine backups, but all of the correspondence on this problem I've found are 9-12 years old and refer to OS's that pre-date mine, and none of them seem to have been successful either. I've been able to access the Library folder in my backups, but I don't see anything in the Calendar folder that looks like an obvious candidate for restoration, and I'm through experimenting. Is there a way to restore the calendar, or should I just give up? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.
