Disable “tap to open app” prompt

When I use siri to activate a shortcut that opens an app, siri responds with “tap to open app” and I need to tap “continue” on the phone to run the app.

In a previous version of ios, the phone would just say “you will need to unlock your iPhone first”. As soon as I look at my phone screen, the phone would unlock and run my shortcut. This all happens hands free. Now, the additional step requires me to tap my screen.

Is there a way to disable the “tap to open app” prompt?

No. When I say "Hey Siri, xxxx" (replace xxxx with the name of a shortcut) it's supposed to open the app I specified in the shortcut. Before it does that, a pop up appears that shows "Continue" or "Cancel" and Siri talks back to me saying "Open app. Tap to open app". When I tap "Continue" Siri responds with "You need to unlock your phone". So I look at my phone to unlock it, then the app runs.

When I go into the shortcut and edit the shortcut all it shows is the action I've selected which is "Open XXXX" where XXXX is the name of the app I want to open. There is no option that says "Show when Run". There is no option that says "Ask Each Time".

This happens every time I issue the Siri command when my phone has locked it's screen.

Hi EA,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. From our understanding, when you run a shortcut with Siri, your device requires you to select continue or done in order to run the shortcut, do we have that right? When you go into the Shortcut app and edit the app, do you see the option that says " Show When Run"? Does it say " Ask Each Time"? If so, you can select that and clear it and turn that option off. This should keep you from having to hit continue to run the shortcut.

Use the Show Alert action in a shortcut

Hope that helps!
