Removing Big Sur out of my external drive

After installing Big Sur from my bootable external drive, am i able to delete the installer from it so that i can free up the space once again in the drive? or is it encouraged to jsut leave it in? Thank you

Yes, you can remove the installer. The only reason to keep it is if you want to reinstall Big Sur, or install it to another volume. Though I personally keep a full installer of each OS Apple released (since Lion) on an external drive so I always have a copy.
