Trackpad sticking

Why is my MacBook Air (2019) trackpad sticking. I now have to tap (vs. push on) it to make it work like a mouse click.

Hello, Tuback.

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. It sounds you’re able to tap instead of push to click with your trackpad, and you prefer the latter. We may be able to help.

Your MacBook Air is equipped with a trackpad feature called “Force Touch”. This lets you customize your trackpad clicking functionality. Check it out:

Try open System Preferences > Trackpad > Point & Click on your MacBook Air. Make sure “Tap to click” is not selected and set your Force Click and Click options to your preferences.

Warmest Regards.
