My iPhone's vibration is acting up?

My iPhone 11 Pro has recently stopped vibrating when i get notifications or when I try to use my switch to turn the ringer on. It sometimes doesn't vibrate at all, but occasionally it will take a while to vibrate. An example of that is that I just tried my ringer switch and it didn't vibrate at first, but did after a minute or two. It also will sometimes vibrate a few minutes after I get a notification but not when I first receive the notification. Other times my phone will randomly vibrate with no notification. I'm very confused. It's done the random vibrations for a while, but it just decided to stop vibrating for the most part last night. I noticed it when I plugged in my charger and the haptics didn't work. Any suggestions? I assume a factory reset will be necessary?

iPhone 11 Pro, iOS 14

Welcome linsey196,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, your iPhone isn't vibrating when expected. We'll do our best to assist with this.

Give the issue, we'd recommend the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Make sure you're up to date: Back up anything important and Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
  2. Does this only happen when Bluetooth devices are connected? Not sure? Disable Bluetooth in Settings > Bluetooth to test it out.
  3. Check for the following settings:
  • Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Vibration make sure this is set to 'On'.
  • Settings > Sound & Haptics > Vibrate on Ring is set to 'On'.
  • Settings > Sound & Haptics > Vibrate on Silent is set to 'On'.
  • Settings > Sound & Haptics > System Haptics is set to 'On'.

Then test it out:

  1. Settings > Sounds & Haptics > System Haptics and toggled off and then back on.
  2. Tap the different vibration patterns for feedback in Settings > Sound & Haptics > Ringtone > Vibration.
  3. Test the ringer switch again.
  4. With Settings > Sound & Haptics > Vibrate on Ring is turned on, do you receive vibrations for incoming calls?

If you go through those steps and test it out, but you still don't receive vibrations properly; then we'd recommend to Contact Apple Support

Hoping this helps you out, take care!
