Facebook and messenger app

I can log into Facebook using safari, but not the Facebook app. Also cannot log into the messenger app for Facebook. When trying to log into Facebook app, it says “error code 100 please try again later”. Any idea how to resolve this???

Try the following one at a time and test the issue after each step.

  1. Ensure that your FaceBook app and your Messenger app are updated from the App Store.
  2. If the above is not an issue then open Settings ➔ General ➔ Reset ➔ Reset Network Settings. You will have to input your Wi-Fi Network passwords again if you perform this task.
  3. If the above does not work then Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:
  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF). 

4. If none of the above recommendations work then you can opt to Reset All Settings. Open Settings ➔ General ➔ Reset ➔ Reset All Settings: There will be a reset of all settings on your iPhone to default, including all network settings and personal preferences.

Only your system settings will be reset. You will not lose any apps, data, documents or files.
