Problems connecting an Acer KG1 monitor

I'm trying to connect a Acer KG1 Monitor to a Macbook Pro 15" using an USB-C to HDMI cable.

When I first connect the cable, the OS sets the monitor refresh rate to 144hz and the monitor displays a

'No Signal' message.

If I use the Mirror Displays option and switch the refresh rate to 50hz, the monitor works. Turning Mirror Displays off, the refresh rates updates automatically.

Is there any way to force the 50hz refresh rate? Or anyway I can switch the refresh rate without being able to see? Or any others thing that might fix it?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.2
