I am trying to redeem a 3 month free trial with a code and it keeps saying unavailable and to try again later. I try to initiate the free 3 months in Apple Music and get same thing, unable to process. Am I doing something wrong or is there a temporary issue with system?

Its possible I may have used Apple Radio several years ago when it was free, however I have never been a paid member or used any promotional trial periods. I had purchased a couple of HomePod Minis and was trying to redeem the free trial and that's where I noticed an issue and even in the app when it says you can get 3 months free, it still won't work. So it may be because I had used a while ago. I am still using same Apple ID.
