Phillips 346b1c - cannot control volume and docking station doesn’t work from macbook pro m1

Hi,

Please can anyone help?

I have got the above setup and I cannot control volume of the speakers from the macbook.

Also after reboot on the login screen the docking station built in the monitor is not working, therefore all the accessories need to be connected to the macbook pro in order to work.

It is annoying. It had been working fine on my old intel macbook pro.

My macbook is running latest big sur OS.

Thanks a lot.

In almost every case to date, issues that APPEAR to be caused by the Apple-Silicon M1 chip are ACTUALLY caused by incompatibility with MacOS 11 Big Sur. [There are a few exceptions, generally caused by not fast enough under emulation.]

Big Sur REQUIRES a new kind of Extension to work properly, and some manufacturers are not prepared. You should ask them specifically about Big Sur Support.

If you want help, please post a link to the web page where the Driver is available.

Hi,

Thanks for your help.

Maybe I was not clear enough. I do not have any issues with my HUB, which connects straight to the MacBook PRO USB-C slots.

The problem seems to be with the docking station, which is built in to the Phillips screen.

I checked the Phillips web page, but the available driver for Macs does not solve the issue.

It did work with Intel Mac.

Many Thanks for your help.

'Immediately after login' is when certain extensions (set in your Account) will load.

If there are extensions required to make the Hub in the display work, they may need to be loaded at startup rather than at login.

I am not sure why the volume is not working properly, but there may be manual controls on the display itself that could be used instead.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

The screen comes with USB-C cable and it seems to be working just fine.

I’d say it could be a driver issue as the MacBook M1 does not recognise the screen’s devices. Once logged in, the docking station is up and running.

The volume controls does not work at all as

the OS does not recognise the output devices. I can play to the screen, but it is set to max volume and cannot be changed.

I use the eqMac, but it is not working for the FaceTime calls.

Thanks.

Hi,

once again I am really appreciating your help.

I checked the login items and there are no items.

I am unsure, where I can change the settings for usb receiver. This seems to be a driver issue and the big sur running on the m1 chip does not know, what to do with the device. Charging of the macbook works fine and the screen is also working, but without the HUB I can use only the internal keyboard. :(

Unfortunately it seems so far that I just bought another very expensive toy.

I had previously an Intel Macbook PRO, which was burning while browsing in Safari and now I have got the M1 version, where I cannot use fully my external screen with the mouse and keyboard. (Isn't it a basic setup?)

It is a shame.

Best regards,

Jaroslav
