HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M281fdw not printing with BigSur 11.2.3

My HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M281fdw printer barely prints anything since I upgraded to BigSur 11.2.3 on my MacBook Pro. I can maybe print a small text file with no graphics, and sometimes nothing at all. I have tried uninstalling the printer driver and installing the latest driver several times. I also have an OfficeJet Pro X476dw MFP which prints just fine, but the M281 laser printer is basically a brick (with 4 brand new toner cartridge boxes at $100 a pop sitting beside it). Has anyone been able to find a solution??? Thank you.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw is supported by Apple's built-in AirPrint driver when networked. No software/drivers are needed from HP to support this device on Big Sur 11.2.3 — when using AirPrint.

With the device networked and powered, visit System Preferences > Printers & Scanners panel, and right-click the device entry in Printers. Choose Reset print system… from the secondary menu. This will temporarily remove the device entry, pop a window showing that it was detected on the network by Bonjour. Click the device entry on that Bonjour panel, and proceed to the re-add driver panel. Instead of HP drivers, you select AirPrint and re-add the device.

It should now print, and scanning can be achieved with Apple's Image Capture or the optional paid VueScan Professional product that also supports the scanning component of the M281fdw without any HP or Apple drivers necessary.
