Black Diamond Suit Symbol Error

I am trying to insert the "BLACK DIAMOND SUIT" symbol using the symbol keyboard accessed through the "fn" key with the world symbol on it. However, every time I select it, it outputs the "diamonds suit" symbol. There is a distinct difference in size and color, and it doesn't communicate what I'm trying to say correctly. Is there a way to prevent this substitution?

I'm on a 2020 M1 MacBook Air macOS Big Sur 11.2.3 and I'm using Notions when the error occurs

In the screen shot here showing the symbol keyboard, the red diamond is "diamonds suit", "BLACK DIAMOND SUIT" is the big white diamond (white because of dark mode)

here's me putting them in here:

"diamonds suit" ♦️

"BLACK DIAMOND SUIT" ♦︎

♦︎♦️ in this forum they are both defaulting to a smaller diamond. You can see clearly in the examples you sent, that "White Diamond Suit" is much larger than what is displayed for "Black Diamond Suit"

Try changing the font being used for that symbol.

Could you post a screenshot or just copy paste the two characters you are talking about.

Here is Black Diamond Suit (U+2666) on my machine: ♦︎♦︎♦︎♦︎♦︎

Here is White Diamond Suit (U+2662): ♢♢♢♢♢

I don't see a "diamonds suit" symbol.

Is this happening anywhere other than Notions? Do you see it in any Apple app like Mail, TextEdit, Notes, Message, Pages, Safari on some other page?

When a character appears in color, it can only use the Apple Color Emoji font. When it appears in black, it has to use a different font. So a size difference is easily possible.

The diamonds suit character can also display in black if another font is chosen.

Thanks for the clarification!

Where you input them here in the forum they seem to have the right color: red for diamonds suit, black for black diamond suit. Is that OK for your needs?

As for size, that should be determined by the font being used. Try a different one. Here is a chart showing all fonts I see for black diamond suit.

Interesting. Actually no, as I pointed out in the original post, I'm getting the red suit when I want the black suit outside this forum. It's also interesting that you are seeing the red and black, as I am seeing two small black diamonds. The font may indeed have something to do with size though as you have shown.

Well now that I've checked those programs, no it no longer happens in those programs. The black diamond is black and the red is red. They are still drastically different sizes though, even though I'm using the stock font and they don't look so different in the symbol selector.
