How can Apple get away with breaking my Mac and not replacing it

Apple support literally troubleshoot my computer straight to the garbage. Before my call I had a working Mac without audio but after my call the representative delete all my files without me knowing I needed a backup and deleted all the software on my mac, now I have an empty worthless Mac that won't even start up and they say there is nothing they can do? How is this possible?

As the Apple Retail stores are closed at the moment, did Apple set you up with a third party repair centre,

and when you went there did you ask what costs might incur from handing your mac over for inspection,

did you ask them not to carry out any repairs without your consent.

If you still feel that Apple are at fault then you should contact Apple directly, discussing it here in a users to

users community will not get your issue resolved.

The Apple ITC that they sent me to said it would cost me $575 to reinstall macos.

I think you were not talking with Apple. Follow the info at the link I provided to reinstall your operating system. Mac operating systems are free. Maybe you are not telling us the whole story. Maybe they found a hardware problem and told you it would be $575 to repair the problem. You did not tell us they found a hardware problem.

Yes, I called Apple to set up an appointment at Apple location and the representative decided to do troubleshoot over the phone. I am not an expert on macs. She tells me to press a few keys and did not tell me that I needed everything backed up. After the troubleshooting, she wiped out everything in the Mac and it doesn't even start anymore.

That's when she told me to take it to Apple assuring me that they would he able to restore it at least to working functions. But that is not even an option now. I called with 1 issue and they gave me 3 more. I know Apple is usually great with customer service. And knowing that they damaged my device I though they replace devices if they damage them.

P.s. I do value my data, all she had to do was tell me that the troubleshooting would require a backup, I would've hung up, and called back when all my files were safe.

Apple is to blame and the best they can offer me is a device under $300. I was speaking to Apple and right now I do not have my Mac in hand because I have to pay to pick it up. And what good is it to pay to pick up a piece of garbage? But I am going to call the Apple tech store that has my macbook and tell them about free Mac operating systems. If Apple wiped out my whole system they should be able to replenish it,as they promised over the phone when I Initially called.

Apple tried to troubleshoot my issue but instead made it worse, so they are trying to compensate me with anything under $300, I can choose from anything on their site as long as it is under $300.

My mac was working fine (other than no audio) before the girl that sounded fairly new did the troubleshooting that erased my whole system. Then she went and stated that they would definitely restore my software at no cost.
