Projects created in GarageBand IOS will not open in GarageBand for Mac

Hi all!

I'm having issues opening songs on my Mac that were created on my Ipad Air (4th Gen).

All my songs don't contain any external audio or instruments and all instruments and loops that are in my songs are Garageband's own.

I save all my project files to the icloud but have also shared them to my mac via airdrop, dropbox and many other ways. Every time I open a Garageband project from IOS I get an error saying "the song you are trying to open is corrupted". Can anyone advise how I can resolve this?

I can play and edit these so called corrupted songs on my ipad which makes no sense to me.

I'm running the latest grarageband on my mac under the Catalina OS. I have a Macbook Pro.

Thanks in advance for any help and advise on this.

It sounds like you're getting an alert that the song is corrupted when you try to open it on your Mac with GarageBand. We're glad you've joined us in Apple Support Communities, and we can provide some assistance.

Let's follow the steps in If GarageBand isn't working on your Mac. The troubleshooting in this link has the most frequent solutions to any issue with GarageBand on your Mac, including not being able to open song files.
