Files are stuck with "Waiting to Upload" or "Waiting to Update", so I can't put them in trash.

So I'm trying to do some spring cleaning on my iMac, but there are certain files that have a subtitle saying "Waiting to Upload", "Waiting to Update", or "Ineligible" that can't go into the trash due to Error Code -36. If you have any solutions about this, please let me know!

Hey there, Auraistic,

It sounds like you are having trouble removing some files from your iMac, as they are showing "waiting" or "ineligible" statuses. We are happy to help!

The notifications you see are related to iCloud. To find out what each notification means, check out Get file, folder, and disk information on Mac - Apple Support. Based on the information within the article and what you've described, it sounds like you may not have enough iCloud storage for these files to complete uploading. If that is the case, you can make room following Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support, or purchase additional iCloud storage: Upgrade your iCloud storage plan - Apple Support.
