Hey Siri is broken on my iPhone X
I know that similar questions have been asked before, but I am hoping that there is some update that might help me.
As the title of this question suggests, I have an iPhone X and can no longer use “Hey Siri.“ I have the latest version of iOS, 14.4.1. Because I don’t use the “Hey Siri” feature daily, I am not 100% certain when the problem first developed. However, it seems to me that it was somewhere in the last 1 to 2 weeks.
I tried all the usual fixes, including resetting network settings, rebooting the phone, checking to make sure that the automatic identification of other sounds feature in accessibility was not on, and ultimately restoring the phone from a back up.
Still, nothing. To be clear, Siri works when you press the button, but hey Siri feature does not. In settings, it makes no difference whether I turn the feature on or off. I have tried to turn it on and re-initiate the voice recognition. It never gets past the first step. It appears to be hearing me say some thing but says it doesn’t recognize it when I say “hey Siri“. And, no there is not a problem with the microphone; at least, I don’t think so, because dictation works just fine.
