unable to update to Mac OS Big Sur, Why?

My iMac apparently is eligible to be updated to Mac OS Big Sur. After several failed attempts, I wonder why ?

  1. Go to the Applications folder (Finder > Go > Applications), find the macOS Big Sur Installer app.
  2. Drag it to the trash and empty the trash.
  3. Restart the Mac
  4. Use this link to get Big Sur: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/macos-big-sur/id1526878132?mt=12
  5. Download and install macOS Big Sur.

Also, make sure you have a backup before updating to Big Sur!!!

Cheers,

Jack
