In order not to lose your data, make an iCloud Backup first. Go into Settings, tap Apple ID at the top, select iCloud and find iCloud Backup. There you make a Backup that you can restore from after you have restored to the factory settings. Remember to be on WiFi and connected to a charger when making the iCloud Backup.

Once your back up is done, take a step back to the Apple ID menu where you can see your name and profile picture. Select Find My and log out of Find My iPad. Go back to the Apple ID menu and select Sign Out at the bottom.

Now you are ready to restore your iPad to factory settings. If you are on the home screen, go to Settings, then General and at the bottom you will find Reset. Select Delete all content and all settings.

Once your iPad is restored, you will see the "Hello" screen, and can set up your iPad again. In the setup process, you get the option to select restore from an iCloud Backup, select it and follow the on-screen instructions.
