Thanks for your assistance. I have followed your instructions and installed High Sierra. Unfortunately this is 10.13.06 and the app I wanted to download does not work with that. I need 10.15 to enable me to download the app. Anything else you can suggest?
Thanks but unfortunately it didn't work High Sierra was damaged and Catalina wasn't compatable with my Mac.
Choose Applications from the Finder's Go menu, throw away the High Sierra installer, and download another copy.
