Saving WORD doc

Cannot save doc since downloading BIG SUR on MAC BOO Pro

The current Office for Mac; Office 365 or Office 2019 (One-time purchase) are OK with Catalina/Big Sur

Big Sur compatibility—Microsoft recently announced that it was officially ending support for Office 2016 for Mac on October 13, 2020. Apple Silicon compatibility in Office 2016 is questionable. Office 2019 no issues.

All my WORD & POWERPOINT documents were made with Office 2019 (Home & Student). Can I still use these with BIG SUR? Then why does my trying to edit gets this NOTE: "Action required Noticed One-time purchase unless bought from Microsoft". I did buy from the Microsoft store.

I donot mind at all subscribing to 365. Am I buying more problems by doing so? All I want is to be able to continue using my existing WORD & POWERPOINT documents. What is the best option for me?
