Sales tax

Hello everyone.

Today I bought macbook air for 899$, and initial tax that apple charged me was 56$. But after 2-3 hours, apple charged 36$ more. I contacted apple support to ask why they charged 93 in total. They simply said that tax on checkout is just rough estimate. How is that possible? Can you help me?

Thanks in advance.

We are just users of Apple products like you, we don't work for Apple. It strikes me as odd that their system wouldn't have all tax rates available at an instant but we also don't know the details of your purchase. Maybe you bought it using a credit card address in one state but then had it shipped to a state with a higher tax rate and they have to use that? I'm just guessing here. You could call them and ask why:
