Do I need a phone number to redeem a apple giftcard?

Which kind of Gift Card do you have? Check out: What type of gift card do I have? to find out. While you don't necessarily need a phone number to redeem a Gift Card, you may need an Apple ID. Some Apple IDs will need to have two-factor authentication enabled and that feature may require a phone number.
