iOS: Prevent apps from pausing audio

When I'm listening to audio (either Music or Podcasts) and I open certain apps, the audio stops and I have to go back into the Music/Podcast app and restart playback. CNN's and MLB.At Bat are two example where this happens at the moment.

Is there anyway I can override this and let the audio continue to play no matter what app I open?

All apps on my phone are up to date and I'm running iOS 14.4.1

iPhone 11

Hi Jack,

Some apps that produce audio will take over the audio that's currently being played in the background. Sometimes this can include online ads depending on which websites you're viewing. While there currently isn't a way to disable this. We value your opinion and would encourage you to leave your feedback here: Product Feedback
