itunes

Some of my iTunes music library is stored on a external hard drive.

Currently, it appears my C Drive is the default storage drive. Each time I start my iTunes, I change the storage drive via: Edit > Preferences > Advance > Change > followed by selecting my speciic hard drive and the labelled itunes folder etc.

The following message appears with a yes or no option - I select "NO" as I do not want to cause issues and my inability to access my iTunes library. However, I ask the community for guidance and assurance selecting YES option will remove the need to change the preferred drive option each time I log into iTunes.

"Would you like iTunes to move and rename the files in your new iTunes Media folder to match the keep iTunes media folder organized preference"

Thank you,

Phil

The question will be asked each time. Chances are the media folder is already organized in the default layout. You can turn Keep organized off and then back on again to be sure, but I don't think this is the issue you really need to address.

There is a bug in recent builds of iTunes that, at least for some users, seems to stop this preference from being saved properly. See Make a split library portable - Apple Community and put your library in a shape that isn't affected by the issue, and is easier to backup and move around in future.
