ipad in disabled state, getting 4005 error when trying to restore

My ipad is in a disabled state and I am trying to do a restore.  I have tried twice but both times I get a 4005 unknown error.  I checked the error code on the apple site and it says to try again with another cable but same error.   Any ideas how to restore it?
