Apple Watch doesn't disconnect when removed from wrist

Hello,

I've had my Apple Watch S3 for about 3 years now, and I love it. I am currently on the latest 7.3.2 update. However, I think since the update to WatchOS 6, when I remove the watch from my wrist, it will continue to receive notifications. This is irritating because my watch will continue to alert if I get a text or phone number, and my phone will stay silent. I've had times where my watch was on silent/vibrate, and I didn't know I was getting a couple phone calls and text messages because the Apple Watch was intercepting all the messages and my phone didn't make a peep. "Wrist Detection" is turned on, so it does lock when I remove it. But it just continues to get the notifications.

Does anyone else have this issue, and do you have any ideas on how to fix this?

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.

Thanks for your response javaliga!

Restarting the watch does in fact disconnect it, and my phone will then continue working normally. However, the next time I wear the watch and then take it off, the problem comes right back.

I've also unpaired and paired my watch several times, in fact pretty much every update that comes out I have to factory reset the watch, as there isn't enough space to download and install the update normally. But the problem persists!

Thank you for taking to the time to find those links for me.
