Does it damage the MacBook if we put it at a place that always blows warm air?

I put my MacBook vertically, right beside my desktop pc (about 3-4cm gap). The pc always blows warm air (normal usage, not during gaming) towards the MacBook and I wonder if this will damage the MacBook such as shortening battery capacity or causing damage to screen or internal hardware. The MacBook is shutdown most of the time.
