does Apple Watch Series 0 connect to an iPhone XR?

One of my relatives has bought a newer watch, and they’ll give me their old series 0 apple watch, will i be able to connect it to mi iphone xr on ios 14.4?

Yes with great difficulty,the watch is considered as old now and the trouble you will have trying to pair it is really not worthwhile,also the watch will only update to WatchOS4 which means most of the features on newer watches won't work on a 1st generation watch.
