When I e-mail a photo from the photos app, can I check somewhere to
confirm it sent?
You should find a copy of your sent email message in the Sent folder of the corresponding email account.
Just look in the Mail App - and using the sidebar navigate to the email account and Sent folder.

Thanks for the quick reply. That’s how I thought it should work, but noting is there. I added some text, which my recipient commented on in via e-mail, but did not mention the photo. Perhaps copying it into the e-mail body is a better way try next time.
