The memory is not large enough on my new phone to transfer the data from my old phone.
Can I select the data I want to transfer instead of transferring everything? How do I go about selecting?

Not necessarily. All you have to do is delete stuff on your old phone, or if you don't want to lose anything just back up your old phone to a hard drive, and then delete extra stuff on it, and then transfer.
