WebP

There is an animated WebP image on this page.

ifemoralmajesti dot com / test

It run perfectly fine in Opera, Chrome etc.

But in Safari it goes very slow.

Is there a reason for this? Anything I can do to fix?

Thanx

Hi JupiterSpaceport,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. We understand that a particular webpage and animated image runs slowly in Safari as opposed to other web browsers that you've tried.

Testing in other browsers was a great troubleshooting step and isolates this a bit. Have you tested other websites that have similar graphics and if so, does this only occur on this particular website?

We recommend trying the steps from If Safari doesn't open a webpage or isn’t working as expected which can help with Safari issues.

Take care.

Yea I haven't tried reseting the SMC but somehow I doubt it's that.

I tested the same page on three different devices running Safari they all performs the same.

And if you want to load the link yourself (i can't paste the link directly cuz the bot will delete the post, just remove spaces and add the .com where it says): ifemoralmajesti dot com / test

You will see the same issue I think. I'd like to hear if you have the same issue or not.

I think Apple just added WebP support last year so perhaps some of their code still isn't up to spec...

Again it works find on other browsers so SMC type stuff probably doesn't affect this.

thanx

Thats a good idea...

I just found the page: axilesoft dot com / app / ani

Which shows WebP animations play fine in Safari but they are shorter than mine...

It seems mine plays normal in Safari... but then slows down as if it's running out of memory or something...

And It's not the particular website either as i've uploaded the webp file to ezgif dot com and it also plays slow there.

Again other browsers work just fine with the same page.

Thanx
