CarPlay only playing out of left speaker

Hello,


I have a 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid XE and for some reason CarPlay is only playing out of the left speaker like it’s directions or a phone call but it’s happening for all my audio.


I think it thinks the mic is on somehow because this icon is immediately on when I plug my phone in.


I deleted my phone from the car’s system and removed the car from my phone’s CarPlay devices. I also turned off microphone access to Spotify. I even replaced the cord it plugs in with but it is still stuck like this.


Any advice?

When connected via Bluetooth or listening to the radio, the audio is totally fine. It's only with CarPlay does it get stuck only playing at a different volume and only out of the left speaker.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that while using CarPlay, you only hear audio from the left speaker. We're happy to do what we can to assist.


To confirm, does this occur with all audio using the stereo, even when the iPhone isn't connected?


You mentioned connecting to CarPlay with different cables. Have you also tried checking the port of your iPhone for debris? Cleaning your iPhone
