Hi optimal_,
Thanks for the follow up details!
So you're unable to receive messages from specific senders. Now to start, a code from something like that would not come through iMessage. It would just be a regular SMS text message.
On your phone in Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding, do you currently have your computer enabled in there?
How to forward SMS/MMS text messages from your iPhone to your iPad, iPod touch or Mac
If you don't have the computer enabled, turn it on to set up the forwarding service. Feel free to reply if you still can't receive SMS messages from these senders on the computer.
Cheers!

Hi optimal_,
We understand you're having a problem with the Messages application on your Mac. We're happy to help.
To get started, we'd suggest providing more specific detail about the issue. When you say "Messages often fails", what exactly does that mean? Are you unable to open the Messages application? Does it generate some sort of error when you try opening it? Is the Messages application working but you're unable to send or receive messages in it? If so, are you getting some sort of error when trying to send a message?
Answers to questions like these will help give the community a better idea of what you're seeing so members can provide more relevant responses.
In the meantime, if you're having an issue with sending and receiving, here's some steps that may be helpful: If you can’t send or receive messages on your Mac
We look forward to your response. Cheers!
Thanks for asking. For example, when the bank or Google sends a code to iMessage, I get it on my phone, but not my computer.
I have tried re-starting the computer, closing the application, no success. What is one to do?
Thank you! I think that will solve it!
