How are you supposed to lock a lost phone with you must have the lost phone to log in to iCloud!

Phone is lost! How do you log in to your iCloud account to set phone to lost mode?

You don't need the phone or a two-factor authentication code. You can use any internet browser and log into www.icloud.com/find without being asked for a two-factor code. Or you can log into www.icloud.com (without the /find), ignore the request for the code and click on the Quick Access to Find My icon instead.
