iMac to Mac mini

Hello. Can I do a migration assist from my iMac to Mac mini without extra monitor?!


i don’t have time machine back up either. Is it possible to transfer data without the extra external display ? Thank you!

Hi KaTrina1315,


You need a display for the mini.


And even if you could transfer without a display, you'll still need one for the mini, since you can't use the iMac as a display.


Also, transfer with Migration Assistant by connecting an ethernet cable to the two Macs.

thank you for response. So I am curious now, when you say even if I could ; is there really a way to do Migration assistant without the extra display?!


if I have a Time machine backup external hard drive?! Is that possible to transfer data to Mac mini and if so, how?! What’s is the process?!


Sorry for the two questions I’m just really trying to figure on how I can do this without the extra display. Lol
