UPNP/SSDP and WPS

I received an email telling me my home network has exposed UPNP/SSDP services to the internet. I tells me to disable the UPNP on my router - which is an Apple Time Capsule - and also to disable WPS as both are insecure. This seems fishy to me - would it be a scam?

Delete the scam email.

Even if you wanted to disable UPnP on your Time Capsule, it is not possible because the Apple does not even use UPnP on their routers.

WPS is not enabled unless you enable it. Even if you do this, the connection times out within a minute, so you have to start over.

Chances are, there is a web address or phone number for you to call to "remedy" the fake issues by providing your personal information to the scammers.

"Tests" that indicate that your network has serious security flaws are also common in these types of scam emails.
