Unable to play music. Stuck on "Not Playing"

I am not able to play any music on my iphone. The bottom shows "Not Playing." No matter what song I click on, nothing plays. Songs I want to play are downloaded to my phone.

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your iPhone:

Do you get any error messages or does it just not play?
