I have one contact that has the crescent moon to the left, when he texts on my iPhone. I never get a notification when he texts. My "Do not disturb" setting is toggled off. How do I fix this for one contact?

Crescent moon means the message thread is muted thus it’s a reason for no notification. Swipe the thread left and unmute the thread.

Thank you iW00 for the understanding. I too have this issue but not tech savvy. Could you elaborate on the notification thread, are we talking text, and call ring tone alerts? Also, if I did not change the settings to this function, how does this happen?
