HomePod Minis randomly playing music

I recently got two HomePod Minis and set them up as a stereo pair. I have them in the same room as an original HomePod. I have automations for that HomePod to play music in the morning as an alarm. I have not set up any automations for the Minis. The day after I bought the Minis, they started playing random music from my Apple Music library. I’d turn them off by touching the display and they’d go right back to playing. I’d pause them on my iPhone and they’d resume playing after a second or two. It’d be like this for a few minutes before thing would go back to normal. I’ve reset them and reregistered them from my iCloud account, but the problem persists. Any ideas on what might be happening?

Hi egtpitts,

Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities. We understand that your HomePod minis are randomly playing music, so we'd like to help. First, make sure their software is up to date: Update HomePod

If you continue to notice this behavior after updating them, or if they're already updated, use these steps to carefully clean them: Cleaning and taking care of HomePod

To help rule out possible interaction from nearby iOS or macOS devices, temporary disable Wi-Fi on those devices.
