Erasing hard drive
I need to erase the hard drive on my iMac to trade it in ERASE is grayed out and can't select it. I was able to erase the same volume that said DATA. Thanks for any suggestions.

Boot into the Recovery Partition. Hold down Command + R on start up then open Disk Utility and format.

Hi Thanks, so when I do that I get the screen that ask for Language. The Apple directions say if it was erased correctly the first screen would be the country. Do you think I'm good?
Oh, I clicked continue on the language page and that brought me to the Disk Utilities window. I am able to erase the HD now. Thanks!
