Multiport hub for MacBooks

Is it safe to use USB-C multiport hub adapters with the M1 MacBook pr? There appear to be some users complained who have dead MacBooks after plugging them in to these adapters..I am also using a Ugreen usb hub..is it safe to use? however I am not charging my MacBook using it but I used it for connect my MacBook to external monitor and my external hard..is that problem solved now?

There may be hubs that are incompatible functionally, however there are no issue I know of bricking a Mac...
