Apple watch regularly lights up at night while charging - even with nightstand mode off

My iPhone goes into "night mode" automatically every night, as does my Apple Watch. I set both on their respective charging matts and go to bed.

Every now and again though, my Apple Watch goes through a funny patch, usually lasting a week or so (once every month or two), in which shortly after setting it down to charge, every couple of minutes its watch face comes on at full brightness.

Following other threads in this community, I have tried deactivating the Nightstand Mode, yet the same thing keeps happening, and just to clarify, this is not the friendly soft green time display, it is a full brightness clock face that is basically shouting Wake-Up! every few minutes.

I am quite sure it is not a movement induced issue, and the only solution I found so far was to remove the watch from its (original) charger

My Apple Watch and iPhone are both running the latest official updates.

Any suggestions?! Thanks!

I may have found the issue, and is related to what Ralph9430 mentioned, so thanks.

My charger base/support which both powers the the wireless iPhone charger and the original Watch charger, was running from a smallish power brick, and it may be that it was not supplying enough power to charge both devices at the same time...

Not sure why it would only be a sporadic issue, however I have swapped the brick for a more powerful version and the last few nights have been ok, fingers crossed it stays that way!
