How can I get iPhone 11 screen to light up when I receive a notification?

I have Notifications set to Show Previews = Always, I have the Do Not Disturb = Off, for the Notifications I would like to be alerted on I have them set to On for Lock Screen.

However, when the iPhone is in sleep mode, the screen remains black unless I touch it. This defeats the purpose of the notifications since I can only view them if I proactively touch my screen to view them.

With my previous iPhone, the device screen would light up from sleep mode whenever I had a notification that was set to On for Lock Screen.

How can I get the screen to light up when I receive these notifications?

Thanks for this but ... isn’t there a way to enable the phone to wake from sleep without using this torch/flashlight function? I don’t want everyone around me to be alerted, I just want my phone to wake up from sleep mode and display the notification and stay lighted, which is how it used to work.

I don’t want to use this LED Flash. I tried it based on your suggestion, but that is not what I’m looking for.
