Movie Rental Error and Interruption

I have Apple TV on my iPad. I added it to my tv and rented a movie. I started watching said movie the next day and was 3/4 through it when it stopped playing and requested I stop watching the movie on my other device (which was my iPad and which I had not used all day.) No matter how many times I tried to reload the movie on my tv, then on my iPad in an attempt to clear the error, and another attempt on my tv, and still the movie will not continue. Why am I renting movies or anything from Apple?!
