I am trying to sink all my contact from my iphone 8 to my MacbookPro 2015. When I first got the computer I was able to sink all of the contacts. I have added more contacts onto my phone over time and they do not appear on my computer. What should I do?

Ok. I have logged out completely, restarted the computer, and logged back into my Apple ID.
The computer is restarted. Would you like me to check both the boxes for “enable this account”
I have followed the steps, but when trying to click "contacts" it proceeds to say "setting up..." with the loading icon. After say 2 minutes of loading the loading disappears and the "contacts" box will not be checked.
The check box loaded and then I could not open my iMessage so i reset my computer again. My contacts still have not shown up from what’s on my phone. What do you mean by status bar in the contacts app?
I logged out of my account on my phone then rebooted the phone and logged back in. It asked me to merge everything and I did. There was a note about iMessage not merging and the contacts have still not been added to my computer.

There is a check mark in “enable this account.”
Okay they are both checked boxes by the “enable this account.” My contacts are still different and not showing my new ones.
I have Exceeded my reply amount so I decided to type here that i was wondering if someone could walk me through logging out my Apple ID?
It ask if i want To “keep a copy of your iCloud data on this Mac” for my contacts and calendar.
No it is still the old contacts i have on my phone but does not have any of my new contacts from months ago.
Well when i logged back into my Apple ID on my MacBook it also asked me to log back into my account on my iPhone. Do i still Need to reboot my phone?
Okay how do I know my messages are set up with the same ID. And how do I delete the pictures ?
When I click the arrow next to "this solved my question" it only says link to this post. There is no edit button. I am logged into the correct ID same as my computer.
Thank you so much. When would the pictures be removed? I believe that is it and I have made sure I'm using the same Apple ID for both devices.
