Apple Watch: Apple pay setup error

Hi, since Apple Pay launched yesterday in South Africa I was eager to set it up on my iPhone and Apple Watch. The setup on the iPhone was quick and painless. When it asked if I wanted to add the card to my apple watch, I said add and this error came up (“Could not setup Apple pay”). The card was successfully setup on my iPhone, but I cannot get it to work on my Watch. I have done the following:

1) Restarted both devices

2) Made sure that both has the newest version of IOS installed

3) Factory reset my Apple Watch

4) Signed out of and back into my iCloud account

5) Removed the card and added the card back

6) Turned airplane mode off and on

7) Tried to manually sync the card to my watch, by using the Apple Watch app and going into wallet.

8) Charged both devices to 100%

What have I missed? Am I doing anything wrong? Can anyone please assist?

It appears you've completed the steps from our article Set up Apple Pay on Apple Watch already which is a great first step. Do you have a passcode configured for your Apple Watch? If so and this is still not activating, please use Get Support to connect with our team to investigate this further.
